Different comedians can arrive at similar comic moves by entirely different routes. An ordinary assumption becomes absurd when taken literally. A small irritation grows into a catastrophe. A sentence leads us one way, then turns against itself.
This constellation is a way to explore those relationships—not a ranking of the funniest people, nor a genealogy of who influenced whom.

The craft lenses overlap: observation describes a source of material, deadpan a way of delivering it, satire an approach or purpose. Connections are editorial interpretations unless a documented relationship is explicitly identified. Selected examples include individual jokes, scenes, routines, and complete works; source and original-work links appear where available.
