Process-Oriented Success Measurement

Process that is about improving the craft and chemistry between people is much more important than outcomes.

The point isn’t to know, it is to do. And for it to be done.

The Holistic Approach to Outcomes:

Outcomes must extend far beyond simple output measurements. It’s not just about the output and outcome, it’s about how did it feel as we went. When evaluating the success of any project or initiative, ask critical questions about the broader impact:

- Are people burned out?
- Do team members who previously liked each other now loathe each other?
- Did this make the company stronger or weaker?
- Did this improve or damage personal relationships?
- Are we making more money than we’re spending?
- Did we move our understanding about the world forward or not?
You could technically end up with a great feature or product that people love, but if it completely destroyed internal morale, that’s not a good outcome.
