The Aftermap: Navigate by wake, not wish.

An Aftermap is the map you draw after outcomes. Start from where you actually are, and revise direction based on what just happened. The longer you wait between intent and review, the more variability you **incur**—call it *variance debt*. Keep the loop short.

An Aftermap isn’t a log of actions; it’s your updated model of the world: what you now know about, what you still need to learn, and the moves that sharpen your differentiation at a low cost. A roadmap is a guess dressed in certainty. An Aftermap lets you decide from evidence—where you’ve been and what worked—rather than wishful destinations.

Do what seems interesting and valuable. Sometimes greatness follows.

Direction over destination.

• Measure the gap: plan → outcome.

• Reduce the gap: tighten the review cadence.

• Spend learnings on low-cost, high-signal moves.
